What we Treat
Osteopaths and Physiotherapists are capable of treating a multitude of conditions affecting all areas of the body from headaches to pain in the feet. The staff that work at our clinic ensure the assessment and treatment techniques they use are based on the best current evidence available for their use. This evidence based approach combined with many years of experience gives patients the most appropriate care. The clinic has a very healthy relationship with local GP’s and other healthcare professionals in Thornbury and the surrounding area. This facilitates quick and efficient access to investigations, for example x-rays, when indicated.

Repetitive Strain
Everyday stresses and strains, dictated by our busy lifestyles, can lead to a gradual build up of tension and overuse of the muscles, tendons and joints. Sometimes when this reaches its peak we experience pain. Common areas of the body that are subjected to repetitive strain are the hand and wrist (i.e. carpal tunnel), the elbow (i.e. tennis elbow) and the ankle (i.e. Achilles tendonitis). Physiotherapy and Osteopathy can help relieve the pain caused by repetitive strain by using various massage and mobilisation techniques, stretching and strengthening exercises, acupuncture and advice regarding posture and ergonomics.
Sports Injuries
More and more people are participating in both recreational and competitive sporting activities in order to maintain their health and well being. From time to time sportsmen and women develop problems due to either a traumatic injury on the field of play or through repetitive strain whilst performing sport. People do not need to accept pain when participating in sport, as Physiotherapy and Osteopathy can help to identify the underlying causes of pain, including any faulty biomechanics, and deliver effective treatment to help people return to sport quickly and safely without their problem reoccurring.
